Nonprofit Organization — 5k Campaign

The Fresh Start Foundation is a fictional nonprofit organization dedicated to helping ex-offenders transitioning back into society, with its major focus on helping women who are reentering their communities after time spent in prison. The client needed branding and campaign design and plan to create awareness of the need for women’s reentry services, and funding to run their programs and housing.

Fresh Start Foundation’s new look represents a community, empowerment, support, and positive change. Forward arrows will be used as a symbol to keep moving forward, not backwards for the organization. Additionally, butterflies will also be used in marketing campaigns as a representation of change, especially positive, that these women will be going through.

Furthermore, the colors used are uplifting, eye catching and yet slightly feminine. The typography used is clear and representative of the word fresh with sans serif typefaces of Signika Bold and Raleway Medium. Further campaigns may include a more handwriting style script as a representation of unique, authentic journeys these women are facing.

Once the branding was established, I started creating the campaign to promote a 5k fundraising event. Based on the budget, I chose a billboard, brochure, postcard mailer, and a variety of social media advertisements. Each of these projects were focused on not only catching the eye of as many people as possible but more importantly, to educate the community of the cause.
